IP address conflict with another system on the network
Two devices on the local LAN were assigned the identical static or dynamic private IPv4 address, causing network collisions and connection drops.
Internal desktop parts run on harmless 12V DC voltage and cannot shock you. Simply unplug the wall power cable first, then touch the unpainted metal case frame to ground static electricity.

- Internet immediately disconnects or alternates packets with another device
- Router log shows MAC address collision for the same IP

Open Command Prompt as admin and run 'ipconfig /release' followed by 'ipconfig /renew' to request an unused IP address from the router.
Reboot the router to clear stale DHCP tables
Power cycle the router to flush expired DHCP lease reservations from smartphones, TVs, and IoT appliances.
Ensure PC is set to automatic DHCP
Open 'ncpa.cpl' → adapter properties → IPv4 → verify 'Obtain an IP address automatically' is selected instead of a hardcoded static IP.
Assign an out-of-range static IP if necessary
If you require a static IP, choose a high host number outside the router's automatic DHCP pool (e.g., 192.168.1.220).
