Inspect scheduled tasks and autoruns
Download Sysinternals Autoruns. Look under 'Logon' and 'Scheduled Tasks' for suspicious random alphanumeric filenames running from %AppData% or %Temp%.
Review Task Manager processes without names
Enable 'Command line' column in Task Manager to see where background processes are executing from.
