Device Manager → Network adapters → Intel/Realtek Wi-Fi → Properties → Advanced tab → Roaming Aggressiveness → change to 'Lowest'.
Set Preferred Band to 5GHz or 6GHz
In the same Advanced tab, set 'Preferred Band' to '3. Prefer 5GHz band' to stop falling back to crowded 2.4GHz frequencies.
Bind device to nearest mesh satellite
Open your mesh router app (eero, Google Nest, ASUS AiMesh) and bind your PC/laptop to the specific closest node in the room.
Update wireless adapter driver
Modern Intel Wi-Fi drivers contain algorithm updates designed for Wi-Fi 6/6E 802.11k/v/r fast roaming protocols.
