Open Command Prompt as Administrator. Run these commands one by one: 'net stop wuauserv', 'net stop cryptSvc', 'net stop bits', 'net stop msiserver'.
Rename or delete SoftwareDistribution and Catroot2 folders
In the same command prompt, run: 'ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old' and 'ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old'.
Restart update services and check for updates
Run: 'net start wuauserv', 'net start cryptSvc', 'net start bits', 'net start msiserver'. Open Windows Settings -> Windows Update -> click 'Check for updates'.
